Fight For Ike Fundraiser: Nov 9 @ Sugar-Salem High School

Come join us on November 9th, at the Sugar-Salem High School from 5-8 pm to support the “Fight For Ike” cause. Isaac Edwards, son of BJ & Brittany Edwards, was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called MPS1, or Hurler, at just 15 months (For more info on Isaac’s condition see bottom of page).

This is a cause we hold near and dear to our hearts here at the Dealio. We happen to know the Edwards family very well and we think this is a wonderful cause that the community can get involved with. There will be a Silent & Live Auction, a Raffle, a Fun Run, and a Fundraiser. There will also be a Potato Bar and all the money will go to help with Isaac’s medical bills.

Admission is $5.00 for Adults & $20.00 for a Family. If you are interested in donating contact Amanda Meikle at (208) 371-5359. There is also an account for Issac at Beehive Federal Credit Union if you would like to donate there. With two locations in Rexburg and one in Idaho Falls.

MSP1 or HURLER’S DISEASE: Hurler is a progressive disease where the body lacks a specific enzyme that is needed to break down and recycle certain particles in cells. This results in those particles building up and storing in virtually all cells in the body causing damage to the brain, organs, joints, and bones. There is no cure for this disease. Isaac needs weekly infusions of the enzyme to slow down the progression of this disease which he receives at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. And now he needs a stem cell transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota that will help prolong his life. This will require him to be in the hospital for 3-6 months for treatment.
